Gilbert r. griffiths, chairperson 

Dr. Gilbert R. Griffiths is a retired educator from Dallas, Pennsylvania. He received his B.S from East Stroudsburg University, Master Degrees from Wilkes University and Marywood University. He received his Doctor of Education from Penn State University in Educational Leadership. Prior to starting his educational career he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. After a thirty six-year career in basic education, Dr. Griffiths returned to his alma mater Wilkes University as Director of Educational Leadership Programs. In addition to teaching, Dr. Griffiths contributed to Pennsylvania Department Educational reviews and development of Leadership Programs. He has continued his work with the Professional Standards and Practices Commission since 1989. Dr. Griffiths was an inaugural member of the commission in 1989 and has served as a commissioner for twenty years, ten of those as chairman. He currently resides in Dallas with his wife, they have a son and granddaughter. Dr. Griffiths can be contacted at
